About the Agency

Joy Harris established her own literary agency in 1990. She works primarily with literary fiction, strongly-written commercial fiction, narrative nonfiction across a broad range of topics, memoir and biography, and is drawn to a clear, original voice, an engaging point of view, and strong characters. Joy takes great pleasure in finding new literary voices, and over the course of her career has represented many bestselling and acclaimed authors from the time of their first published work.

Adam Reed joined The Joy Harris Literary Agency in 2006.  Adam has a background in business and technology, received an MFA in writing from Bard College's Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, and was a fiction editor at Fence Magazine from 2006-2016.  His interests include literary fiction, science, technology, and medicine, and pop culture.

Olivia Nathan joined The Joy Harris Literary Agency in 2018. Olivia studied literature and writing at Barnard College where she earned her BA in English. Her taste is erratic and biased towards female narratives, ekphrasis and family sagas. She has occasionally taken to writing her own work about Los Angeles, fine art and nostalgia.
